RISING STARS OF THE EAST! Drag B 'the mic addict!!!

Determination they say is a sure route to success. In this music industry one does not just wake up to fame or success especially for the good reasons.
One gentleman who believes in determination and passion is a guy I sat in the same class with during my primary school days.
He was a pretty naughty kid back then[lol], he found his heart beat at Senior high school.
I initially used to write him off, I under rated him so much back then.
But one thing I did notice was that, when we used to stay together after high school, this gentleman had his talent pushing itself out.
Back then (2008), he used to write songs for a friend who was competing in a radio talent hunt.
With all that, I really still didnt feel convinced that this guy could slay a beat with a microphone.
He eventually took up the challenge to chase his dream of becoming a rapper.
He lyrically 'murdered all the MCs in a Radio builsa Sunday rap battle.
Again, I was approached by a friend with this guy's demo (not because i'm a producer, but because I know a good song when I hear one. My talent.lol).I didnt listen to the demo because at the time I was busy working on a project.
I personally offered him the stage at Miss Buluk to prove his worth but he couldnt make it to the program.
Right after the program, I was hit yet with another demo of his and I was getting used to some cachy and mind blowing punchlines.
Just a few musicians can do rap in my local dialect(buli), the legendary Aboalik Kwame is the amongst the few to have done that.
Recently, I received an audio message from a friend, I asked him what it was because I didnt want to waste my bundle downloading ***t.
But out of curiousity I downloaded the audio and low and behold it happened to be a mind changing experience.
I heard raw talent, 'wicked and sick' punclines and above all it was I my local dialect.
What makes him unique is his perfect blend of literal devices. He is a rhyming genuis too!
Azumah Isaac a.k.a Drag B is one hell of a rapper. Raw talent, determination and a passion for success. No doubt on my mind, should he persue this passion, he will be one of the biggest mainstream acts.
Drag B, I officially throw a challenge to you. We have heard your flow in digital version, will you prove your worth on a live stage @missbuluk2015???

Chronicles of fame: Sarkodie as a study case

Tough times come and people with the urge for success go through tough times to become icons.
One of such people of our time is Ghana's man of the moment; Michael Kwesi Owusu Addo better known in showbiz as Sarkodie.
The multiple award winning artiste didnt wake up on the seat he is today. He worked blood and soul, went through the thick and thin to be at the top.
The BET award winning artiste at his hustling days like he has been reciting in his lyrics, used to perform at shows for just t-shirts.
He even used to walk as far as from Tema to mamobi to perform at shows. This is how passionate he has been throughout the years and there are no signs of him stopping now.
Recently, the MTV African Hiphop act of the year, released his critically acclaimed media 'diss' titled ''free press''. Sarkodie spoke his heart out in  a song which is generating so much controversy. Apparently the feud came after the hiplife grandpapa Reggie Rocstone jokely tweeted 'if Ghanaians knew how passionate Sarkodie was projecting Ghana music, they will build him a statue.''
Sarkodie probably used words in his lyrics which are explicit, but the Jesus truth is some of these media houses deserve it.
They do no work, they read other blogs and carlously do 'copy and paste'.
They do not have the spirit of true journalism to do background check on the stories they are writing.
They do not care if the story is true or not, with or without facts. All they care about is generating traffic to their 'next to nothing' blogs.
The Ghana online writers Association may have been quick enough to ban publications of Sarkodie and his label. It might be right, the hard question they should be battling is how effective is that so called ban?
GOWA should go to the drawing board and ensure that their members perform their basic duties. Ensure they write truthful and unbiased stories. Untill then, Sarkodie is right with his 'free press'!!!
