Chronicles of fame: Sarkodie as a study case

Tough times come and people with the urge for success go through tough times to become icons.
One of such people of our time is Ghana's man of the moment; Michael Kwesi Owusu Addo better known in showbiz as Sarkodie.
The multiple award winning artiste didnt wake up on the seat he is today. He worked blood and soul, went through the thick and thin to be at the top.
The BET award winning artiste at his hustling days like he has been reciting in his lyrics, used to perform at shows for just t-shirts.
He even used to walk as far as from Tema to mamobi to perform at shows. This is how passionate he has been throughout the years and there are no signs of him stopping now.
Recently, the MTV African Hiphop act of the year, released his critically acclaimed media 'diss' titled ''free press''. Sarkodie spoke his heart out in  a song which is generating so much controversy. Apparently the feud came after the hiplife grandpapa Reggie Rocstone jokely tweeted 'if Ghanaians knew how passionate Sarkodie was projecting Ghana music, they will build him a statue.''
Sarkodie probably used words in his lyrics which are explicit, but the Jesus truth is some of these media houses deserve it.
They do no work, they read other blogs and carlously do 'copy and paste'.
They do not have the spirit of true journalism to do background check on the stories they are writing.
They do not care if the story is true or not, with or without facts. All they care about is generating traffic to their 'next to nothing' blogs.
The Ghana online writers Association may have been quick enough to ban publications of Sarkodie and his label. It might be right, the hard question they should be battling is how effective is that so called ban?
GOWA should go to the drawing board and ensure that their members perform their basic duties. Ensure they write truthful and unbiased stories. Untill then, Sarkodie is right with his 'free press'!!!
